ATHENS, GA (September 6, 2016) – QDMA would like to thank the Bass Pro Shops stores and employees and the 108,391 Bass Pro Shops customers who supported QDMA by rounding up their purchase totals during QDMA Month, June 2016. The Round Up provided funds for QDMA’s new Share Your Hunt™ program, which is dedicated to mentoring first-time youth and adult hunters, wounded veterans, and the children of deployed soldiers and those killed in combat.
In total funds raised for QDMA’s Share Your Hunt™ program, the top five Bass Pro Shops stores were Port St. Lucie, Florida; Charlotte, North Carolina; Mesa, Arizona; Nashville, Tennessee; and Palm Bay, Florida.
“We are extremely grateful to all Bass Pro Shops stores and customers for their support during QDMA Month,” said QDMA CEO Brian Murphy. “The funds raised will support our efforts to recruit and educate the next generation of hunters. Bass Pro Shops has been a recognized leader within the hunting and conservation arena for decades, and we are deeply appreciative of their continued support.”
Bass Pro Shops is a long-time corporate sponsor of QDMA and has been promoting the organization with “QDMA Month” in its stores each year since 2003. The QDMA Month promotion has now raised over half a million dollars for QDMA’s mission: ensuring the future of white-tailed deer, wildlife habitat and our hunting heritage.
QDMA’s Share Your Hunt™ program provides assistance, support and materials to QDMA Branches hosting mentored hunts for new hunters, youth, wounded veterans and military families. Sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Tactacam and Yeti, the program assists with the planning and development that goes into a mentored hunt and allows QDMA volunteers to focus on their guests, ensuring a safe, enjoyable and meaningful experience in the outdoors.
