Joint Partner Habitat Day 2018 (Multiple Locations)
Shiawassee State Game Area (Optional OTG project)
Volunteers will be willow cutting along banks and installing fencing structures around trees that were previously planted in the area. Participants are encouraged to bring chainsaws (if they have them), work gloves, bug spray and refillable water bottles. Lunch and cold drinks will be provided for all attendees.

Frankenmuth Conservation Club (Educational sessions with sponsoring organizations)
Participants will be learning about the contributing partners involved in habitat day, engaging in presentations on MiHUNT and using aerial maps to contribute to habitat projects

Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge (Wildlife walking tour with educational stations)
Participants will be touring the Ferguson Bayou trail at the refuge. Each station (5 total) will showcase different species’ habitat and have a 20-minute presentation by one of the partner groups. Attendees should expect to walk about two miles throughout this portion of the event. Most of the trail is shaded, however participants are strongly encouraged to bring bug spray, wear sturdy shoes and wear pants that cover their ankles.

No single use plastic water bottles are permitted at the National Wildlife Refuge.
Attendees will be asked to leave these items in their car during the tour. Please bring a reusable/refillable water bottle, as water cooler stations will be provided.

You are invited to join the Cadillac Area Branch at our Habitat Day featuring Jeff Sturgis! The day will start at the Tustin Community Center where Jeff will go through the habitat management plan he has put together for the property that will be walked that day. Once the morning discussion has wrapped up, Jeff will tour the property with everyone attending and continue to cover the management plan during the tour.
