One of Wisconsin’s newest QDMA Branches will be holding a “Meet and Greet” at Trout Springs Winery on April 28, 2018, from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. The Branch will be serving chicken booyay, along with cheese and venison sausage snacks. Beer and wine can be purchased at the winery. This will be the official kickoff to the new QDMA Branch. Plenty of time to meet the officers and to learn more about QDMA and QDM. There will be a presentation from Tim Pagel of County Visions Cooperative on soil testing and food plotting for deer.

Branch leaders from the Great Lakes Region and surrounding areas are invited to attend a Regional Leadership Workshop in Lansing, Michigan on May 4th and 5th. This will be a great opportunity to come together as branch leaders and focus on ways we can work together to accomplish our 5 year mission goals!
It will be a fun event with an optional sporting clay shoot on Friday afternoon at the Capital Area Sportsmen’s club, followed by dinner and drinks at a local establishment. Saturday will consist of updates from members from the national office, an update on efforts in Michigan, grassroots fundraising and membership, hunting heritage programs available through QDMA, advocacy updates on CWD, APR’s and more, and panel discussions with branch leaders. I truly believe an event like this can help take this region to the next level, and I hope you are all able to attend!

Join the Capital District Branch of QDMA and other forestry and wildlife professionals for a woodland habitat workshop. We will be working in a hardwood stand to improve bedding, browse, wildlife cover and future timber value on professionally managed lands. QDMA membership and RSVP required for directions to the site. Join is for a free BBQ on site following the field portion.
Join the Cadillac Area QDMA Branch at their annual banquet on Saturday, May 12. It will be a fun-filled night with a great dinner, live and silent auctions, raffles, games and more! Proceeds raised at this event will help QDMA continue to pursue preserving our hunting heritage and the white-tailed deer.

The Devil’s Garden QDMA Branch would like to invite you for a night of food, fun, guns, and fellowship.
Dan Ellyson (co-owner/GM A-1 Archery) and Bill Volkert (Covert Camera Rep) will discuss trail camera setup, placement, maintenance, and strategies. All attendees will receive 10% off Covert cameras and accessories, plus a 5% donation will be made to QDMA. Cost is a $5 donation which includes a door prize raffle ticket. QDMA membership is not required to attend. Memberships will be available at a discounted rate.
You are invited to join the Central Michigan Branch at their Burn Symposium featuring Dr. Craig Harper on June 16. The day will consist of a lecture on burning, property tour, and a burn demonstration (weather permitting). Lunch will be provided for all attendees.
For attendees interested, there will be a more in-depth property tour from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Harper. This session is limited to the first 30 people and the total cost for the day would be $20.
About Craig Harper:
Dr. Craig Harper is a Professor of Wildlife Management and the Extension Wildlife Specialist at the University of Tennessee. Craig is a regular contributor to Quality Whitetails and a Life Member of the QDMA. Dr. Harper and his graduate students concentrate their work on applied management issues, including forest management, early succession management, food plot applications, and the effects of quality deer management.
Join the Capital City QDMA Branch for a property tour on the Kozlowski farm led by Joe Bartylla. Joe has developed habitat plans from Canada to Texas. Get ideas on how you can improve your habitat and your hunting. Topics include food plots, early successional habitat, creating bedding areas, fruit trees, travel corridors, water sources, licking branches, stand selection, equipment, hinge cutting, screening options and access.
