I mean bow opener. I saw this critter and no deer. He never gave me a shot. Same stand as last year when i saw a bear.

I have no idea how big it is.

Hmmmmm, maybe if i had drawn my bow instead of taking pictures i could have hammered. He never stopped in this opening though. We have some nice foodplots in this rockplile.

Closest he got was 38 yards but was never in the clear.

Really cool pictures, thank you for sharing. I don't know what the laws are in your state, but I believe I'd have to try to get him on a bait pile if legal. Taking that bear with your bow would be quite the trophy! Good luck this season with the deer and your suprise visitor from yesterday!

Saying bears and bait in the same sentence is illegal in Virgina! Better luck next time.

are you aloud to just whack them or do you need tags or what?

That's what I was thinking, Mike--put down your camera and pick up the bow! LOL.

He's over 200#. Too bad you couldn't have taken him. Have they been causing any more damage? I haven't seen any recent sign of them on our property. I'm sure they're around though.

We get a bear tag when we buy our big game license. So yes we can kill them.

I haven't seen anything else yet. There are two more trophy pears that are loaded that haven't been hit yet. Hopefully next hunt i hit him.

hope you get him next hunt, will be at least a little revenge for all the damage they're done.

We saw 9-10 different bears this weekend. 2 mothers & 5 cubs, and 2 or 3 other bears. I'm hoping they stay back in the woods where we saw them, but i'm readying myself to find a bunch of destruction next time i get up there.
