What's the largest bobcat you have ever seen killed that was actually weighed? My son killed one 2 years ago with his bow that weighed 44lbs and now he killed one Sunday evening with his rifle that weighed 46lbs. It was a big male that was actually putting a stalk on a grown doe and spike.

I killed one about 3 or 4 weeks ago that is about that size. I was guessing around 45 to 50 lbs. I got pictures, but none of me holding it, as I was the only one around. So, it's hard to imagine his scale. Big old guy though.
I was amazed that they could be that big.
By the way, he was my first bow kill. I'm still trying to get my first deer with it!

I would say that a 46 pound bobcat would be considered huge. A big male that large would make an awesome mount. I have killed three females and they all weighed less than 30 pounds. Around here, anything over 30 pounds would be considered big. In fact, I don't think I have ever heard of one as big as your son killed. That's great!

I've never weighed any of mine. Any way, the biggest one I've killed was field dressed by the .30-06, so the weight wouldn't mean much. I would say the one you have is on the high end of any I've ever seen killed. I've got two that may be close, but not quite as big as that one.

Cats that size are unheard of in AL. That's even a big one for northern states.

I can't find any records for bobcat weights in Alabama, the state says that they don't keep up with the weight, which puzzles me because our taxidermist said he had to weigh it on his certified scale. He told us the two my son killed were the biggest that he's seen in a long time. I tried to google bobcat records and all i could find was where a guy in Wisconsin killed one that weighed 48lbs and they thought that might be a North American record.

I have never killed a bobcat, but I have seen several in the wild usually during deer season when I'm hunting high on the mountain. Most I have seen would appear to be in the normal 20-30 lbs range. However, I saw a huge cat right at the Giles County, VA <> Monroe County, WV line on Big Stoney Creek Road last spring......he was twice the size of anything I've seen before.......ran across the road in front of me, barely missed hitting him. He was the size of a yearling fawn like you would see during hunting season. Huge cat.

Biggest I've heard of around me was 50#. I know of a few that have been trapped that were mid 40's.
