The Foothills Branch hosted a Father’s Day Field Day on June 18 at Cuffie Creek Farms. The property is owned by Louis Batson, QDMA Chairman of the Board, and Ron Fleming, owner of Wings and Antlers Wildlife Services. Cuffie Creek Farms has been under QDM since 2007.
Ron Fleming gave a guided tour of the property, discussing the installation and maintenance of food plots, bedding areas using native warm season grasses, mineral stations, fruit and mast trees, stand locations, hinge cutting, and sanctuaries. The Clemson Extension Service and South Carolina 4-H had a booth where youth could learn about different animal species with furs and skeletons. The youth also received information about the South Carolina 4-H Food Plot Project and how to enter. The tour was capped off with a barbeque lunch from Circle M Barbeque.
