North Carolina Group Named
2006 QDMA New Branch of the Year
Bogart, Ga. – North Carolina’s Cape Fear Branch has been named 2006 QDMA New Branch of the Year. Cape Fear President Guy Gardner and his wife, Judy, accepted the award during the QDMA National Convention and Whitetail Expo, in Valley Forge, Pa.
With more than 130 branches in 29 states, QDMA annually honors a branch chartered in the preceding 12 months whose members worked effectively in education and fundraising to have an immediate impact on the area they serve. Other finalists included Georgia’s Piedmont Branch and New York’s Finger Lakes Branch.
“The Cape Fear Branch came on like gangbusters,” said QDMA Director of Branch Development Gene Newman. “They built a strong foundation with a group of dedicated leaders and directors, and those folks created a wonderful vision and goals.
“They created an effective publicity campaign and staged community outreach projects, youth functions, a Branch banquet, numerous educational events and several successful membership drives. We are proud to honor the members of our Cape Fear Branch for their efforts.”
Founded in 1988, QDMA is a national nonprofit wildlife conservation organization with 40,000 members in all 50 states and several foreign countries.
