Christopher B. Asplundh
Joins QDMA Board of Directors
Bogart, Ga. – Quality Deer Management Association Executive Director Brian Murphy has announced that Christopher B. Asplundh has joined the QDMA Board of Directors. Aplundh is CEO and Chairman of the Board of Pennsylvania-based Asplundh Tree Expert Co.
“Chris has spent more than a decade leading one of America’s most well-known and successful family businesses,” Murphy said. “He brings a wealth of experience to the QDMA Board, and he also is a hunter and passionate QDM practitioner. We welcome him and look forward to his significant input to the QDMA Board.”
A Pennsylvania native and graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, Asplundh began his career with the company in 1964, following two years in the United States Marine Corps. He managed Asplundh’s line-clearance operations in Illinois, New Jersey and New England until 1968, when he was elected vice-president of the company.
Elected Asplundh President in 1992, he was named CEO and Chairman of the Board four years ago. With approximately 30,000 employees, Asplundh serves the electric and gas utilities, municipalities, railroad and telecommunications industries throughout the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.
A QDMA member and avid archer who has hunted the world over, Asplundh is a Past President of the African Safari and Conservation Club of Philadelphia. He also currently serves as President of the Pennsylvania Ecological Restoration Trust.
Founded in 1988, QDMA is a national nonprofit wildlife conservation organization with 40,000 members in all 50 states and several foreign countries.
