Dr. Gary Alt to Deliver Keynote Address
at QDMA National Convention

Bogart, Ga. – Dr. Gary Alt, former Pennsylvania Game Commission Deer Project Leader, will be the keynote speaker as well as a seminar speaker at the 6th Annual QDMA National Convention and Whitetail Expo.

"Gary Alt is one of the most significant figures in all of deer management over the past decade," said QDMA Executive Director Brian Murphy. "We are pleased that he has agreed to join us for the QDMA Convention, and that he will be a part of the outstanding educational program we have developed for the event."

Alt will deliver his keynote address on Friday morning (June 23) as part of the opening session of the 2006 Convention. He also will give a seminar during Saturday's educational sessions. All events are open to the public, and registration forms are available from the QDMA National Office and online at www.QDMA.com.

Other speakers during the Convention include Dr. James Kroll, professor of wildlife management at Stephen F. Austin State University’s Institute for White-tailed Deer Management and Research; Nationally acclaimed comedian and enthusiastic deer manager Jeff Foxworthy; Kent Kammermeyer, Georgia's former chief deer biologist and a noted authority on forage and native vegetation species; Kip Adams, Certified Wildlife Biologist and QDMA's new Director of Conservation and Outreach Programs for the Northern Region; Dr. Harry Jacobson, wildlife consultant and Professor Emeritus at Mississippi State University; and several others.

In addition to more than 2 1/2 days of seminars and instruction, the 2006 QDMA Convention also will include the biggest and best Whitetail Expo ever, with more than 120 exhibitors whose products and businesses target hunters, landowners and those who manage whitetails and the habitat they use. An Expo highlight will be the Bass Pro Shops King of Bucks Truck, a mobile museum that features dozens of the biggest whitetails ever taken.
