Michigan’s Eric Howard
Is
2007 QDMA Volunteer of the Year
Bogart, Ga. – – Eric Howard, of Nashville, Mich., has been named the Quality Deer Management Association’s 2007 Volunteer of the Year. Other finalists for this top QDMA individual service award included Randy Bowden, of Georgia’s Savanah River Branch; Charles Fiscella, of the Hudson River Branch, in New York; Guy and Judy Gardner, of North Carolina’s Cape Fear River Branch; and E.W. Grimes, of the Bachman Valley Branch, in Maryland.
“Volunteers are QDMA’s lifeblood,” said QDMA Executive Director Brian Murphy. “This is annually one of the toughest awards for us to select because we are blessed with so many members who dedicate themselves tirelessly to promoting better deer and better deer hunting through QDMA.
“Eric’s efforts, in particular, stand out this year,” Murphy added. “I congratulate him on the award and thank him on behalf of every QDMA member for his contributions.”
Howard, who currently serves as president of the Barry County Branch, has served in leadership roles involving every element of the Branch’s activities – from fundraising to education to working with local chapters of other conservation groups in Barry County and the surrounding are to forge strong, effective relationships.
