On Saturday October 1 and Sunday October 2, the Ohio Valley Branch in collaboration with McCoy Lumber Company hosted the QDMA hunt for disabled individuals in the area. This year 16 lucky hunters attended this great event in Adams County, Ohio.
The hunters arrived on the evening of September 30 for the meet and greet dinner and a social pre-event meeting. After supper, a safety briefing was given and each hunter was teamed with a guide for the hunt on Saturday and Sunday. Each team was informed of the hunting location they would be heading to the next morning.
The hunters arrived in the field early Saturday morning to what was near perfect fall conditions and the same true for Sunday. The 16 hunters were able to take 15 deer with one hunter taking two does and another hunter bagging a beautiful 9-point buck.
This fall’s hunt turned out to be a huge success thanks to the help of the volunteers from the Ohio Valley QDMA branch, McCoy Lumber Company, Seraphim Ranch and Mr. Troy Conley. The Branch members are pleased to assist with such a great cause, helping those who normally are unable to get out to the field to enjoy the great sport of deer hunting.
