A friend sent me this picture of a buck taken in Ohio. I never saw anything like this. Anyone have any idea what it is? Infection?

looks like it has part of a can of bud light wrapped around one of his tines.
Maybe too much beer drinking contributed to the size of its nose. Ha Ha Ha.

There were a few deer from MI like that this year... google swollen face buck and you can read a little bit about the ones from MI.. They really don't have a good idea why it is caused... Some think it is a bacteria in the face....

Probably fusebacterium necrophorum- a bacteria that can cause facial abcesses.
