Here are a few pics of bucks licking one of my rope/stick licks. (rope hanging from a limb with a stick attached with nylon ties.)

Interesting. Is that just a plain old stick attached to rope? If so, that seems like a pretty interesting way to make a scrape in a couple of months . . .

That's interesting. I've got the overwhelming urge to go out and tie up about three of those things right next to each other and see what happens then

I've actually got the perfect spot to try that out and I think I will.

In image 20 I like the buck hiding in the background looking at the buck on the scrape....

Do you just hang the branch? Put anything on it?

Just hang it under a larger tree that has no other branches coming down. It has to be "out of the ordinary" - kinda coming down with nothing else around it.
And no, nothing on it....but deer spit!
Once one licks it, thats all a buck needs to check it out for himself.

If ya put a camera on it, make sure its one that has a good battery life. The wind will sometimes make the branch swing, triggering the cam. Its not uncommon for me to have 75 "blank" pics in one week. If this happens, keep in mind, its not a problem with the cam...its just the wind.
Good Luck.
P.S. - Wear rubber gloves when touching the rope and branch, you will get faster results that way.
