MN bucks still have head gear. This pic was taken in a mowed corn plot at my house. One still has both, one has only one, but the other one looks broken rather than dropped.
Yes, it's amazing. I saw a nice 10 on our place near Wausau still with his rack. I have never seen head gear so late in March. I wonder if the warm winter has anything to do with it. Interesting.
I pulled a card the other day and there was a 2.5-3.5 yr old with both sides still on as of 3-10-12.....I agree the new growth is gonna push the old bone off!

I just had a 3.5 (?) year-old in my yard. Still had both sides.
Meanwhile, another buck we have, that shed both sides by december 6th, is already starting to show very slight (1/2") signs of growth.
Just about ended an 8 point's morning on my way to work yesterday morning. He stood broadside in the middle of the road just before my headlights got him motivated to move. obviously some with full gear still in north-central Kentucky.
Central Indiana they're still sporting them. My nephew saw one the other day with both sides still on. I've seen a lot of trees looking like its rut again. I've noticed that since the beginning of march.
Would it be hurtIng them if they don't drop the old ones and the new ones are pushing up?
