Suburban Deer/Backyard Browsers
Does anyone have any tips on dealing with suburban deer? I live in residential area on an acre and a half of land. There is a significant deer population that routinely jumps my fence to browse in the backyard.
This is all fine expect when they go after my vegetable garden!
Besides fencing is there any way to keep the deer out of the garden?
Is it a good idea to setup small food plots in the backyard to give them another option for browsing (and eliminate some of the lawn I have to mow)
Right now my yard is part of the deer populations daily route (with a wooden fence on one side and lots of thick brush to provide cover), but i'm not sure whether to encourage or discourage their presence.
Thanks!
