I have a ?????????????? will purple top turnips come up if you overseed them in wheat and rye ?

I vote yes, if the seed contacts the ground and you get a hard rain.
I just did the same thing on Saturday.

I try to keep them all within 25 yards of my bow stands though;)
Right before a rain would be perfect

My partner threw a few handfulls of purple top seeds out the window as I slowly drove thru one of my pea fields last year. Dang things grew like crazy and by December, the deer had eaten every plant and some of the bulbs!

As others have mentioned, brassicas seem to grow ANYWHERE, as long as they have some decent soil contact. The last 2 weeks the deer have completely wiped out my rutabaga and turnip leaves, and last week they even starting eating the root already (northern MN). This seems about 2-3 weeks early for both the leaves and the roots. It has been colder than normal this fall, so I would imagine the frost has sweatened them up already. I bit into a turnip and it practically tasted like candy compared to the usual "peppery" taste.
