Curious given the discussion on other thread, what you guys think. Doesn't matter to me, he is a shooter. He is 4 I think, was a 9 point last year that I guessed to be 140 and 3.5yo when I watched him during gun season. Camera is about 11-12 feet off ground and pointed downward so angle can be deceiving. I hope the G3 keep growing!

I think he is over 140 now and with additional growth will probably get over 150.

Very nice buck. Good length on the brow tines. Can't wait to see a pic of you holding his rack!!!

By the way, I am by no means implying that I passed on him last year, had already filled my buck tag! I hope to see him again because his G4 last year was a real neat looking crab claw and looks like both sides will have them this year.

Great looking deer! What would you think this deer weighs or what kind of weights have you previously harvested on your property?

Thank you,

bjorn

They loose a bunch of weight through the rut, but anything 3+ yrs old is going into the rut around 200+lbs field dressed. My brother shot a nice nontyp few years back and he could barely budge it. My 8 point last year scored 130 net and weighed 155 field dressed, aged at 2.5yo. Killed Nov 9, had a wound from previous arrow near miss with another hunter that passed through lower abdomen.

Interesting info, a P&Y measurer that I met killed a dandy aged at 7.5 yo on a state park hunt in Indianapolis. It was the end of November and field dressed weight was 260. It was a pig!

That's why I like hunting in Texas. Big racks and LIGHTER bodies! (LOL!)
