I have only about 10 acres to plant, including a 6.5 acre field and 5 other smaller patches adding up to 10 acres. Several of the smaller patches have nice established clover growing well. I'd like to add to the last season forage in those fields but don't want to till in the clover. I was thinking that next year I might run a disc over the clover field, not too aggressively, but enough to reveal some dirt. Then broadcast brassicas lightly over those areas on mid August. I'm not worried about damaging the clover, it'll recover in the spring. I know the brassicas will not attain full size, but even 8" turnip greens would add some late fall attraction. Anyone else do this??
