I posted this on the page and someone suggested I put it on here. I need specific advice on what I can plant in So Il when we are there Labor Day weekend. It is a heavy corn and soybean area. We have an area in some CRP that was set aside for food plot just never implemented. I have been planting food plots and farming in SC since a kid but I am ignorant when it comes to up there.

Rye, oats, clover and winter peas. Soil in Southern Il should be fine without to much work. Stop at a co-op along the way and pick up some cheap seed. Most of the co-ops in that area should carry all the above. :)

I am in southern illinois and will be planting rye, clover, peas and radishes. On labor day weekend. Pick up all of mine except the radishes from local seed store. ordered the radishes from Welters Seed. Good luck.

Co-op= Farm service store FS. They deal in herbicides and seed.

how deep do you"ll suggest in planting? would you just drag over it or would you cut it under?
