Well, I am worn out and too tired to write the story, I will do that tomorrow sometime, but I just had to get the pics on here.

Hunter Julie McQueen harvested the buck we named "High Brow". Pretty easy to see why. I am very excited.

Story to follow...

Here is the field pic:

What a bruiser! Sweet looking rack and the deer looks absolutely huge in the body. I guess you had another accent to your buckpole. 800 yards though...I bet you had a hell of a tracking job to do. Good or bad shot?

Liver shot.

Yeah, he looks good on the pole.

220#, largest buck we have harvested in a while. Our mature buck are usually about 210. This deer followed "High Tower" out and made him look like Bambi!! Based on the footage I thought this deer would have weighed around 250.

OK, I am going to bed now.

I think you need to paint that rack onto your sign......It's bigger. :D

That deer looks bigger than 220#, but pictures fool you sometimes. Still bigger deer than I see in my neck of the woods regularly.;) I just checked out your website. I like the layout of the site and you look like you have a really nice place/farm. I was wondering do you only take one hunter per date range? I know it says only 6 hunters per year and I noticed you have 6 date ranges. However, I noticed the guide per hunter ratio was 1:2.

Is she a celebrity? I live a sheltered life. I googled her and this website came up and it does say she's a hunter. http://www.juliemcqueen.com/index.html Is this the same woman? Looks like her. Great buck either way! Congrats to her and the lodge.

pretty sure that's her.
She moved to Missouri and started a model and talent agency by the age of eighteen, and grew it to be one of the largest in the state. She also blew away the competition in the hunting industry, killing almost every big game animal that exists in three different continents.

So, she's beautiful, successful, like's to hunt, play poker and can fly a plane. Why do i see a lot of guy's shaking their head's right now ? :D

WV--Thanks for checking the website. We like to have 2 hunters per week and there are 6 total weeks to pick from but only 6 hunters total. So, if I get 2 hunters each of the first 3 weeks then I'm done. This year we have 2 hunters for 3 consecutive weeks starting Sunday.

That 1:2 stuff is just something you seen on every website so I figured I would put it on there. We officially have 6 guides, but since we only take 2 per week my dad and I do most of the work. I do 99% of the scouting i.e. trail cams, watching fields, shed hunting(which we don't get to do much of) etc. etc.

Was JT there to film it for her?

Yes.

Yes and thanks.

PS Julie is one of the most down to earth nicest hunters we have had in the lodge. You would never know she is who she is by being around her.

Was the event captured on film ? If so, is there a plan for it ?

If IL could claim that as the average buck and average hunter, that would be something :D

How difficult was the 800yrd track ?

Congratulations again for the successful outcome.

I'll go with 9, probably closer to 9.5, but I want to stay conservative. Deer is a nice one too.

18 yds. On a trail that leads to food plot. The deer was about 200 yds from the plot, right behind Hightower. She had the discipline to pass on him!!:D

Here's the deer she passed.

First, let me say based on the trail cam pics I thought this deer was in the 150's. However, I didn't have a hard horned picture of him until exactly 12 hours before she shot him and I didn't see it until this Saturday.

When I watched the footage I realized he was a lot smaller than I thought.

This deer unofficially scored 138 2/8" gross. I know that is hard to believe. He does look like a HOG in the pictures. He had really short beams...19" and his 2's and 3's weren't much over 7" either. He had a nice spread, great brows and good mass, just no tine length to take him to the next level.

He was a 4 year old deer that weighed 220# and everyone is very tickled about it.

I officially stink at guessing score on deer from pictures! I give up! Should have stuck with a camera ads 10 inches to a deers score....but it burnt me last time. Even then, I would have been off by 14 inches!
