Youth Hunt

Youth Hunt 09 Group SmallThe QDMA National Youth Hunt has proven to be one of our most amazing success stories each year. This year the event was held Oct. 22-25 at a property in Georgia. Each year, the attedees enjoy not only the opportunity to harvest deer, but also comraderie, along with once-in-a-lifetime experiences like rifle training from the US Army Marksmanship Unit and other unique sessions, including how to age deer, bird dog demonstrations, and much more. Over the course of the four-day event, the attendees make lasting memories and friendships while experiencing a beautiful property.

QDMA will be accepting nominations from Branches beginning fall 2010!

Important details to keep in mind as you prepare your nomination:

  1. Nominees MUST be age 15 or younger on October 15, 2010.Dustin Deer Small
  2. QDMA will pay travel expenses for each youngster. A parent/guardian may accompany the youth hunter, but their travel expenses will be their own responsibility (unless driving is a reasonable option and arranged by QDMA).
  3. We will NOT be able to accommodate additional parents/adults for youngsters. The property we are using has wonderful facilities, but only enough to accommodate the hunters and one parent/guardian for each.
  4. The attendees will need to miss two days of school to participate. Please clear this BEFORE you file nominations.
  5. Nominations MUST BE RECEIVED at the QDMA National Office by close of business on Friday, September 11, 2009. We will accept nominations by email, fax or regular mail ONLY. Please return nominations to Danielle Riley by email: driley@qdma.com,   fax: (706) 353-0223, or mail: Danielle Riley at QDMA, P.O. Box 160, Bogart, GA 30622.
  6. To be consistent with the spirit and intent of the QDMA Mentored Hunting Program, please do your best to nominate a youngster who is NEW to hunting and, preferably, who would otherwise not have much opportunity to participate in the outdoor sports. Please nominate those youngsters you believe will benefit the most from participating in the National Youth Hunt.
  7. Please keep in mind that the youth hunter will likely be hunting with a property guide. Although we try to involve the guardian in as much of the deer harvesting process as possible, in most cases, the parents/guardians will not accompany the youngster while hunting.
  8. You must submit the following information with your nomination:
  • Full name of nomineeGirls Small
  • Birth date of nominee
  • Full name of parent/guardian
  • Home Phone number, cell number, and email address of parent/guardian
  • Complete home address of nominee and parent/guardian
