"Decling deer herds" – the phrase has a bad sound and feel to it. Kind of like “American as snakeberry pie” or “Sweet home Siberia.” Not to offend our Russian friends but we like hot dogs and apple pie, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Sweet Home Alabama, and lots of deer.
